CatalunyaCaixa's server has been certified by the Verisign certification auhority, wich guarantees that when the customer clicks [enter] they are really connecting to CatalunyaCaixa, transmitting user codes and passwords using a 256 bit encoded TSL 1.0 protocol.

Protect yourself
Remember that you should NEVER disclose your username, password or your card coordinates to anyone, even if they say they are from CatalunyaCaixa and regardless of the means used (email, phone, letter or in person) as we will never ask you for this information.
Your codes give you access to our CatalunyaCaixa Service, so it is very important you keep them safe!
Personalise your username with a word that only you know and is easy for you to remember. Don't use widely-known information or things that are easy for others to guess. Do the same with your password, but don't use your username as your password.
Don't make a note of your codes on a piece of paper or anywhere else!
Internet transaction security
CatalunyaCaixa will never send you an email asking for your username or password. If you receive an email asking for such details, do not give any information and immediately contact the CatalunyaCaixa by internet service on 93 479 99 05.
Our emails
You'll be able to identify emails you receive from CatalunyaCaixa very easily. They all feature your full name and the last digits of your identity card or passport number in the subject field.
Emails you receive from CatalunyaCaixa will never contain links to a website where you will be asked for your access codes.

CatalunyaCaixa You never send you an email asking you the code, access code and the coordinates of your card.
Wary of unexpected emails or pop-ups that ask you private data.

Shopping online with cards
CatalunyaCaixa is a member of the Visa and MasterCard secure payment systems (Verified by Visa and MasterCard Secure Code). When you use a card to make an internet purchase from an establishment that is a member of these systems, you will be asked for a code from your coordinates card.
You can identify these establishments by the logos shown here.
Plus, if IT systems detect potentially irregular or fraudulent transactions, you will be phoned by the relevant department.
The golden rules for security
1. Never give anyone your internet access codes.
2. Regularly change your access codes for our service.
3. Always access our website by entering its address in your browser.
4. Make sure your antivirus program is ALWAYS updated.
5. Try not to access our internet service from a "public" computer.
6. Do not use your card to shop on websites without first having checked the "veracity" (authenticity) of the site where you intend to make your purchase.
7. If you suspect any type of fraud is going on, report the incident to the CatalunyaCaixa by Telephone Service as soon as possible by calling 93 479 99 05 or send an email to info@catalunyacaixa.com with FRAU (fraud) in the subject line.

The latest in security for Internet users in Spain is here: "I secure Internet". This campaign, which helps to raise awareness and inform net users about how to protect their privacy when browsing on the internet, has brought about a new partnership between INTECO and CatalunyaCaixa.
